Methven is located just off the Inland Scenic Route 72 at the foot of Mt Hutt, one hour south of Christchurch.

Scheduled shuttle services between Christchurch and Methven operate all year round via Methven Travel and non-scheduled special departures are available on request.

During winter there are plenty of options for skiers & boarders wanting to head up to Mt Hutt for the day, including selected accommodation pickups and regular town centre departures.

In addition to the Methven i-SITE Visitor Centre being able to book all your travel requirements to and from Methven, we can also book all your other New Zealand holiday transport requirements including the TranzAlpine train journey from Christchurch to Greymouth, interislander ferries, and guided bus tour options.
